What is this?
The Bosnian-Herzegovinian Film Festival (BHFF) is an exciting showcase for contemporary Bosnian-Herzegovinian cinematography, and films with Bosnia and Herzegovina as their theme.
Who are you?
BHFF is a project of a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization the Academy of Bosnia and Herzegovina located in New York City and collaborating organizations Voice of Bosnia and Herzegovina based in New Jersey and the Association of Filmmakers in Bosnia and Herzegovina located in Sarajevo.
What do you do?
BHFF organizes an annual film festival in New York City and serves as an advocate of Bosnian cinematography in United States throughout the year.
How do you do it?
BHFF is entirely organized by volunteers. Led by senior team members the entire team is unpaid and works on BHFF out of sheer love of film, Bosnia and Herzegovina and cultural diversity in NYC. BHFF team relies heavily on the experiences and knowledge built over last 14 years and uses the developed organizational infrastructure to deliver the expected results.
Who do you work for?
BHFF serves a sizable Bosnian-Herzegovinian immigrant community in the New York City and the U.S. and it also provides a cultural and art content for all NYC communities who appreciate diversity and cultural exchange.
When do you do it?
BHFF is a year-long project and while we have several fundraising and promotional events throughout the year the culmination of our work happens with a final film festival presentation each spring. The 14th annual BHFF will take place between April 13-15, 2017
Where do you work?
Our home is SVA Theatre in Chelsea at 333 W23rd Street, New York, NY 10011 which is where the final film festival takes place. We also organize several other events throughout the year.
