SIXTEENTH ANNUAL BOSNIAN-HERZEGOVINIAN FILM FESTIVAL TO BE HELD APRIL 10-13, 2019, IN NYC; CALL FOR ENTRIES CLOSES FEBRUARY 15, 2019

The Bosnian-Herzegovinian Film Festival (BHFF) is currently accepting feature, documentary, short, and animated films either produced by Bosnian-Herzegovinian filmmakers or that feature themes about Bosnia-Herzegovina! The BHFF call for entries is open through February 15, 2019.

BOSNIAN-HERZEGOVINIAN FILM FESTIVAL ANNOUNCES 2019 DATES, CALL FOR ENTRIES

The sixteenth annual Bosnian-Herzegovinian Film Festival (BHFF) will take place in New York City from Wednesday, April 10, through Saturday, April 13, 2019!

The BHFF call for entries is open until February 1, 2019. The festival is currently accepting feature, documentary, short, and animated films either produced by Bosnian-Herzegovinian filmmakers or that feature themes about Bosnia-Herzegovina.

BHFF ANNOUNCES GOLDEN APPLE AWARDS

The Bosnian-Herzegovinian Film Festival (BHFF) in New York City is excited to announce the winners of the Golden Apple Awards for the 15th annual event! Aleksandra Odić’s GREAT WALL OF CHINA won the BHFF 2018 Golden Apple Jury Award for Best Short Film. Samira Kameli and Sajra Subašić's TO BE FAR won the BHFF 2018 Golden Apple Jury Award for Best Documentary. THE FROG, directed by Elmir Jukić, produced by Ademir Kenović, and starring Emir Hadžihafizbegović, won the BHFF 2018 Golden Apple Jury Award for Best Feature. Emir Hadžihafizbegović won the BHFF 2018 Jury Award for Best Acting Performance for his role as Zeko in Elmir Jukić's THE FROG. The BHFF 2018 Jury Special Mention, as well as the BHFF 2018 Golden Apple Audience Award for Best Picture, went to MEN DON'T CRY by director Alen Drljević.

The Bosnian-Herzegovinian Film Festival (BHFF) in NYC is excited to announce a Q&A event with renowned director Alen Drljević, at SVA Theatre on Friday, April 13. Drljević's feature directorial debut, the critically acclaimed Men Don't Cry, screens at the 15th annual BHFF.  A graduate of the Academy of Performing Arts in Sarajevo, Drljević’s 2005 short film The Paycheck was nominated for a European Film Award for Best Short. His 2006 documentary Carnival explored the effects of the conflicts of the 1990s on the former Yugoslav states. After working as an assistant director on three films with director Jasmila Žbanić, Alen embarked on his own career as a feature director with Men Don’t Cry.

The Bosnian-Herzegovinian Film Festival (BHFF) in NYC and Human Rights Watch (HRW) are proud to announce a Q&A event with renowned director Aida Begić, at SVA Theatre on Friday, April 13. Begić, whose latest film Never Leave Me screens at the 15th annual BHFF, is among Bosnia-Herzegovina’s most decorated directors. Her many awards include the the 2008 Cannes Critics' Week Grand Prize for her film Snow, and a Special Distinction in the Un Certain Regard category at Cannes, for her 2012 film Children of Sarajevo.

The Bosnian-Herzegovinian Film Festival (BHFF) in New York is proud to present renowned film director Ademir Kenović and emerging director Elmir Jukić as guests of the fifteenth annual BHFF. The two join legendary actor Emir Hadžihafizbegović on Saturday, April 14th, at SVA Theatre in New York City for a Q&A session following the 6:00PM screening of their film The Frog.

The Bosnian-Herzegovinian Film Festival (BHFF) is proud to announce two Q&As with legendary actor Emir Hadžihafizbegović as part of the 15th annual BHFF. On Friday, April 13, Hadžihafizbegović joins director Alen Drljević for a Q&A following the 9:30pm screening of Men Don’t Cry. On Saturday, April 14, Hadžihafizbegović joins renowned producer Ademir Kenović and emerging director Elmir Jukić for a Q&A following the 6:00PM screening of their film The Frog. Both events take place at SVA Theatre in New York City.

PROGRAM ANNOUNCED FOR THE FIFTEENTH ANNUAL BOSNIAN-HERZEGOVINIAN FILM FESTIVAL IN NEW YORK CITY

The programming committee for the Bosnian-Herzegovinian Film Festival (BHFF) is excited to announce the lineup for its 2018 edition. A total of 15 films will be screened at the festival, which also includes a series of Q&A and discussion panels with filmmakers, running from Wednesday, April 11 through Saturday, April 14 at two Manhattan venues. The BHFF will kick off with a special event on Wednesday, April 11, with a screening and discussion panel at Anthology Film Archives before moving to the SVA Theatre for three exciting nights featuring screenings, events with with filmmakers, and much more.
