Film Synopsis:

In Sarajevo, a teenager seeking validation claims that she had sex for the first time during a game of "truth or dare" among middle schoolers. Trapped in her own lie, she invents a pregnancy and becomes the center of a controversy that spirals out of control.

Director's Biography

Una Gunjak was born and raised in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina. She studied in Italy and in the United Kingdom, where she obtained her MA in Editing at the National Film and TV School. While still working as editor, Una's current focus is writing and directing. In 2014, her short film The Chicken premiered at the Cannes Film Festival Critics' Week, won the European Film Award for Best Short Film and was selected in the International Competition of Sundance Film Festival. It went on to screen at 270 other festivals around the globe, receiving more than 70 awards. Her short film Salamat from Germany, made within the initiative Lebanon Factory, premiered at the Directors' Fortnight 2017. Una’s feature project Alfa was selected for the Cannes Film Festival Cinefondation Residence and Torino Film Lab's FeatureLab programme where it won the production award.
Excursion, Una’s second project in development that gained the support of Eurimages, Aide au Développement at Cinemed 2019, Hubert Bals Script and Project Development Fund, and Sorfond in 2021, also received production support in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia and Serbia and thus far, is going to be her first feature film.
